CHURCH DESECRATED.
VALUABLE ORGAN DAMAGED. SOUTH MELBOURNE DISPUTE. MELBOURNE, Juno 23. When tho members of tho congregation of a Presbyterian Church at South Melbourne went t-o attend service there last evening they found all tho doors and windows barricaded. After forcing an entrance they discovered that tho organ, valued at £IOOO, had been broken and tho wooden pipes removed and nailed to tho walls to barricade tho windows. Tho service was conducted with tho aid of candles placed on tho ends of tho scats along the aisles. The troublo is said to have been a result of a disputo with another Presbyterian Church in tho vicinity. Tho authorities of tho two churches some time ago decided to amalgamato them. However, the congregation at tho church where the troublo occurred yesterday refused to agree, and for tho last six months had been' holding services without the aid of a minister.
