WINTER EXHIBITION.

SOME NEW FEATURES. ATTRACTIVE SCHEDULE. Tho forthcoming Auckland "Winter Exhibition promises to provido moro than ordinary interest, on account of the many changes effected, particularly in the live-stock section. A largo temporary building is being orccted to house this very important section. On tlio first four days of the Show, this building will bo occupied by the Auckland Kennel Club's Annal Show. During tho next period of four clays, tho Auckland Poultry, Pigeon and Canary Club will' hold their annual show in tho same building, followed by a show of industrial rabbits, under the auspices of tho Auckland Fur Club. A portion of tho building has beon set aside for tho display of pedigree dairy cattle with high production records. Demonstrators of the respective breeds are arranging a definite series of lectures and demonstrations, especially for the benefit of those interested in tho dairying industry. Tho oxhibit of buttor and cheese will be a most imposing one, symbolical of the productivity of tho Dominion. The Department of Agriculture and the Forestry Department are making extern,ivo displays, which will form a most attractive and educative feature of the ■ Exhibition. There is no lack of exhibitors, desiring space to exhibit their goods to tho public. Tho availablo space is being rapidly taken up, and tho indications arc such that tho forthcoming Exhibition will eclipse all previous efforts. The Homo Industries Section has received tho attention of tho Executive. It lias now been arranged that tho amateur cooking classes shall remain in tho Exhibition for a period of four days, succeeded by the Auckland Gas Company's special cake competition, and these in turn will bo followed by a special competition open only to bakers. Large prize money amounting to about £IOO has been subscribed toward tho bakers competitions by a few very generous donors. The Auckland Gas Company has arranged for the installation of 10 gas stoves, and it is proposed to hold scono baking competitions, for primary and secondary school girls and a further class open to any amateurs.

A special competition has been arranged for icing cakes. This will bo confined to professional pastry-cooks.
