PROGRESS OF RECHABITES* FORESTERS' ANNIVERSARY. ! i The district officers of the 1.0. K. havo been busy this month, visiting tents and installing officers. Their reception at Mount Albert Tent was most interesting, as it is nearly two years since tho institution of tho tent. A very stable tent is growing up in this progressive district. The officers chosen for the next term are:—Chief Ruler, 13ro. R. B. 'Brcdie; Deputy Ruler, Bro. N. Rayner';'P.G.R., Bro. Geo. Clark; secretary and treasurer, Bro. J. Bridge; stewards, Bros. & Wilson and A. Cochrane; Levile, Bro; A. MacKenzie; Guardian, Bro. G. 'G>vyhne. A pocket wallet was presented to Bro. H. J. Baker, P.C.8., by members of 'tho tent bowling team as a recognition of hits services. After the meeting games of bowls were played between teams representing the district officers and tho tent. Ihe visitors won. The district officers ulso visited Hope of Otahuhu Tent. Tho attendance was good and keen interest/ was taken. The tent officers installed were:—Chief Ruler, Bro. Nelson Bow; Deputy Ruler, Bra L. Davies; Past Chief Ruler, Bro. A. Sinclair; secretary and treasurer, Bro, A. Patrick; steward, Bro. R. Airey; Levite, Bro. J. Pegg; Guard, Bro. L. Piper. A game of bowls between members and visitors took place.

The Loyal Mjaunt Albert Lodge* M.U.1.0.0.F., held its installation ceremony last Wednesday. Bro. G. W. Tapp, P.G., acted as installing master, assisted by P.G's., Bros. Warner and Hampton. The proceedings wero carried out in a. most impressive manner. The' following now occupy the chairs:—N.G., Bro, E. V. Winks; V.G., Bro. F. Furnell; Elective Secretary, Bro. A. Keatley. Thero is a capable suito of junior officers. The installing master addressed the new team.

Tho Star _ of Newmarket Lodge,U.A.0.D., paid an official visit to Otahuhu last Tuesday and provided the harmony for the evening. The gathering was a large one and after the routine business a very fine programme was submitted. Items were given by Bros.' Davis, Potter, Mackay, Page. Smart, Hampton, T. Wilson, Wade, Thompson and Nelson. The toast of Grand - Lodg,© was proposed by P.D.P. Bro.-Potter, response being made by the District President, Bro. Andy Mackay.. ::< vph;e D.P. paid tribute to the men at tho head of affairs, and said that their good work was only made possible by the loyal cooperation of the lodge secretaries and members. The toast of the Star of Otahuhu Lodge was proposed by P.G.P. Bro. T. Wilson, who specially referred, to tho splendid service rendered .by tha lodge secretary, Bro. Hickson, the P.D.P., Bro. Smith, and the Arch Druid: All responded. P.D.P. Bro. Voice, the delegate to the Friendly Societies' Conference, gave a very interesting account of the last meeting of the conference. Tho visitors' toast was responded to by Bro. Voice, P.D.P.; Bro. Hunt, P.A., and Bro. Thompson, of Roskill Lodge. A very interesting ■ and enjoyable "evening came to a successful conclusion at a late hour.

The Gordon Tent, 1.0. R., met at Onehunga last week, the C.R., Bro. Millbank, presiding The attendance was very fair and a surprise visit was' received from the officers and members of the Mount Albert Tent. Sister Campling, D.R., welcomed the visitors and several of the guests responded congratulating the officers'and members of tliu Gordon Tent on their good progress. One new member was initiated in a most impressive manner, while' the Deputy Ruler was installed in her .position by P.D.C-R. Bro. Brodie. •At the conclusion of tho business games of bowls were played between the visitors and the home tent> honours being even at the end, '• Refreshments were served.

A very pleasant evening was spent at the installation of officers of the Loyal Chevalier branch of the M.U.1.0.0.F. The meeting was adjourned at 8 to allow the admission of visitors to viev.this ceremonious event. Past " Grands Bros. Hampton and Norris, conducted the newly-elected officers ,to the lecture master's .pedestal, occupied .by Bro.! A. Johnston, who delivered the obligations. A congratulatory address was delivered by Past) Grand Bro. Hampton, briefly outlining tin useful activities of the officers in the past six months. Later games were played, interspersed with musical items and dancing. Supper was served and a very enjoyable evening was spent.

Court Royal Oak, A.0.F., Tauranga, celebrated its fiftieth anniversary on June 11 with a largely-attended social and dance in the Jubilee Hall. Among 'the visitors were the district chief ranger, Bro. T. King; the.district secretary, Bro. R. Darlow, Auckland; Bro. 0. Dunstan, Court Waihi; Bro. Andrews and several members of Court To Pukes; B'rri." J. Pitkiethly, Court City of Auckland; Br<». J. Ollard, secretary, and several members of Loyal Tauranga Lodge, M.'U. 1.0.0. F. The guests were warmly welcomed by the court s chief ranger, Bro. J. Hynds.> Dinner was served after which the D.C.R., Bro. King, addressed the meeting, stressing the ideals of the Foresters' Order, and conveying the congratulations of the Auckland district to Court Royal Oak on its history and achievement. Bro. Darlow, in the course of an interesting address, gave . some very illuminating figures on the growth of the order. - Members of kindred societies voiced" their pleasure at participating in the" celebrations and congratulated the Foresters on reaching such un auspicious occasion in their history. A very fine programme of .vocal and instrumental items was presented by Mrs. Pole, Miss Gray, Miss Paul,: Miss Grice, Mr. and Mrs Tonkin, and Mr.■ N. Covell. For the dancing Bros. C. Davidson and G. Hynds acted as M.C.'s., while excellent music was supplied by, Mr. Steven's orchestra. Extras were played by Miss Grice. The function was a great success and reflected much credit on those responsible for its organisation. The court is progressing well and the recently installed officers are all very keen. Tho juvenile court is making great strides under tho auspices of a capable committee, with Bro. W. Norris as secretary an A Bro H. Riggir as president. The following are tho officers of the aduit court— C.R., Bro. G. Hipds; S.C.R., Bro. R. Gray; S.W., Bro. S. Smith; J/W-, Sister W. Smith; 5.8., Bro. Forshaw; J. 8., Bro. P. Bruni^g.

Northern Oak Lodge, U.A.O.D. (Dargaville), met last week, the A.D., Bro. Davenport, presiding over a large attendance of visitors and members. An official visit was received from the district president, Bro. P. Walderi,; and the grand vice-president, Bro. G., Leathby. Among the other visitors present * were P.D.P., Bro. Flowers (Whangarei). and P.A. Bro. Blackburn (Pride, of.'Matamata), A large amount of routine business received attention and two new members accepted. The D.P., Bro. Wahlbn. assisted by P.D.P. Bro. Lees installed tho officers for tho ensuing term, the following being tho new occupants of the chairs: A.D., Bro. H. Tonkin; J.P.A., Bro. F. Davenport; V.A., Bro. 0. Fit 7, Henry; treasurer, P.A. Bro. Berridge: 1.G., Bro. Constablo; 0.G., Bro. R. Vanse; A.D.B's., Bros. Old and Ogle; Y.A.B. s, Bros. Marsick and Orzulich; M.C., P.A. Bro. W. Taylor. The lodge then went into harmony and, gathering round the well-spread tables, a lengfhv toast list was honoured. During the evening tho G.V.P., Bro. Lethaby, was askeu \o present, on behalf of the lodge, a I.A. collar and diploma to Bro. M. Simpson. Another presentation was that .of a silver teapot to P.D.P. Bro. L»es, in reeocmtion of his services as Sf.C The Membership Cup was received Bro VaUse. this being the second time in succession ho has won it. Well received items wero rendered by Bros.
