SCHOOLBOY FASHIONS.

Sir,— Referring to the illustration in Saturday's ll£i:ald of the Grammar School cadets who won the Empire Shield shooting competition, one observed with surprise that a number of the boys adopted that fanta<-:io practice of wearing the cap over the right ear. It is apparently countenanced by the authorities, sinco tho headmaster and one" of tho assistants were in the group, but by no stretch of imagination could it be said to add to the smartness or general appearancc of the team. Can anyone offoe a reasonable defence for what seems to savour of affectation'/ The writer has inquired of many of the boys without obtaining even a plausible explanation. Sol'thehv College.
