Tho seventh annual meeting of members of the Southern Cross Permanent Building Society was held yesterday. Tho chairman of directors, Air. W. Andrew, presided. Tho annual report, which recommended the payment of a dividend of 6£ per cent., and tho balance-sheet were adopted. Details were published in tho Hlrald on Juno 17. In moving tho adoption of tho report, Mr. Andrew commented upon tho successful introduction of tho recording homo safe which had been taken advan tago of by many people who nn j nevehad a banking account. He also stated that the society's long term mortgages wero in good demand, and it was the hope of the society to make tho terms even easier in the future Tho retiring directors, Professor H. W.
