ARRIVAL AT MARSEILLES.
By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received Juno 22, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON. June 21. Another flight from England to Australia is in progress. Mr. James Matthews, formerly mechanic to Mr. Bert Hinkler, accompanied by a rich young man named Hook, secretly left Lyinpno aerodrome, Kent, at dawn yesterday, on an attempt to break Mr. Hinkler's record.
Tho departure of tho two men was not reported until late at night. Their aeroplane is not equipped with wireless. The fliers reached Lyons, where thoy spent the night, and continued their journey to-day, arriving at Marseilles at 9.48 a.m. .
Messrs. Matthews and Hook had only arrived at Lyinpno on Thursday night when they arranged to leave at dawn next day in a Moth aeroplane named Dryasel. They took a heavy store of petrol, which made taking-off difficult. Tho two men said they expected to reach India in five days. Each holds a pilot's certificate, but their actual flying experience has not been extensive.
