OFFICERS' CLUB AT HOME.
AN ENJOYABLE EVENING.
A very larger-attended At, Horns was held by the Officers' Onb in the club rooms, Union Buildings, on Saturday evening. Lines of gayly-coloured balloons were strung across the ceiling, and the pretty frocks worn by the ladies and the uniforms wcra by their aosts ail added to the brilliancy of the scene. An orchestra under the leadership ci Miss Eva Ellis was stationed at one end of the hail and played incidental music during the arrival of the guests, who -were announced by Lieutenant, Mensies and presented to Colonel T- H. Dawson, president of the clnb, and Mrs. Dawson. Before dancing commenced a competition was held for the ladies, the winners being Sirs. McCorkindaia and Miss Aitkem Paper hats and other novelties were distributed, these adding to the gaiety of the evening. Later dancing took place, while for those who preferred cards bridge tables were set out m the reading-room. Mrs. Dawson, who with Colonel Dawson, received the guest*, wore a frcck of fuchsia lace, the skirt falling :n deep points to the ankles. Emeeton, black chenille velvet embossed in jade green; Mrs. Hull, lavender lace; Mrs. Prime, apricot georgette and spotted tulle: Mrs. A. n. Moots, anpls green satin beaute: Mrs. Drumn, pink ceorgette and lace; Mrs. Chalmers, royal "blue georgette beaded in silver: Mrs. Alexander." del blue georgette with silver seqninned coatee; Mrs. somervilie. black georsette with bine and geld coatee. Spencer wore black georgette inlet with black lace godets; Mrs. McArthur, petunia taffeta; Mrs. &ing Mason, black taffeta with cream floral wrap; Mrs. Marriott, black velvet appligued with coloured flowers; Mrs. Wallingford, roval bine georgette and gold lace; Mrs. Oakes. cccca-brown lace frock with long side panels; Mrs. Black, blue and silvei lame; Mrs. Menlies. white satin; Mrs. Sinclair Reid, grey moire taffeta; Mrs. Dickinson, Erin green georgette; Sirs.
