DELAYS NEAR TAURANGA.
BLOCK IN A CUTTING, N PASSENGERS TAKEN BY CAR. [BX TELEGRAPH—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] TAURANGA. Saturday. As the result of heavy rain in the Tauranga district yesterday a large slip came down in a railway cutting in the Omokoroa district and the train which leaves Tauranga for Auckland at 12.1 p.m. had to return to Tauranga in consequence. Tho passengers from this train went on to Auckland by car. The train which usually arrives here at 4.50 p.m. from Auckland was stopped at Waihi and returned to Frankton.
Gangs were put on to clear a passage through the debris and through traffic was restored by nino o'clock thi3 morning. The 9.40 a.m. train got through tho cutting without mishap.
