YESTERDAY'S WEATHER.
CONDITIONS IN SOUTH. Auckland.—The weather was boisterous and wet yesterday, when a strong east-north-east wind was blowing, and rain fell almost continuously from mid-day to midnight without any indications of the conditions improving. Tho barometer was very low last night, tho reading being 29.50 in., a fall of ,70in. in 24 hours. Wellington.—The weather was fine all day yesterday, with a fresh northerly wind. Conditions were overcast in the afternoon and there were a few misty showers during the •evening. Christchurch.—The weather was bright and warm yesterday morning after 10 degrees of frost, but in the afternoon there was a fair amount of cloud. The wind was light from the north-east. The maximum temperature was 53 degrees. Tho barometer fell steadily all day and the reading was 29.66 in. last evening. Dunedin.—Tho weather was fine in Dunedin yesterday with more cloud than sunshine. A heavy mist enveloped the city about mid-day, and there was practically no wind. The maximum temperature was 52 degrees. The barometer fell rapidly during the day and was still falling in the evening, when the reading was 29.60 in.
