RIDER THROWN AT SHOW.
INJURIES TO THE HEAD. HORSE TURNS SOMERSAULT. [I)Y TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] PALMERSTON NORTH, Friday. A nasty spill was experienced by Mr. E. R. Locke, of Levin, when riding in the maiden jumping competition at tho National Dairy Show to-day. His mount refused to rise at tho post and rail fence and crashed into the obstacle, somersaulting and throwing the rider on his head. Mr. Locko was taken to hospital, but the extent of his ipjuries has not yet been ascertained.
