COFFEE CAKE.
0.R., Cambridge, asks for the following lecipa for coffee cake: Three ounces of latter, 3oz. brown sugar, two tablespoons <o£fee essence, two eggs (well beaten), flour, half teaspoon nutmeg,, two tablespoons golden syrup, one teaspoon prbonate of soda. Sift flour into basin, job in butter, add sugar and nutmeg. ftfnlro a well in centre, add the rest of jha ingredients; tho soda must bo dissolved in a tablespoon of warm milk, tha mixture well _ and pour into a greaaed and floured tin. Bake in a moderate oven about one hour.
