In a tram car recently the fair possessor of one of these flimsy man-traps recontly told how a Belfast handkerchief manufacturer saw in the Seine city delicate handkerchiefs embroidered with the namo and address and telephone number of the wearer. Ho thought it a bright idea and started making them also, and they are enjoying a tremendous vogue. This .idea of handkerchiefs as visiting cards has many advantages. To flirtatious damsels, for instance, they are a. godsend. They are tactfully displayed tucked in a pocket of a handbag so that the lettering can bo read 3ft. away. , r .. ... And ono " accidentally " dropped in the proximity of an admiring young man is a splendid way of getting accfhainted. At a dance the prudent Borneo gets the benofit. He has a chance of estimating what'-it will cost him in taxi fares before he offers himself to Juliet as an escort!
