CARD EVENING.
The first of a series of card evenings, organised by the social committee of the Devonport Tennis Club, was held in the jfjvv League hall on Thursday, the proceeds being in aid of the pavilion im~ provement fund. Progressive and stationary bridge was played, tho winners being Miss Davies and Mr. G. Mackenzie of stationary and 3lrs. Palairet and Mr. J- Cranswick of progressive bridge. Tho ladies of the committee comprised:— Mrs. MacLaran, 3liss Berry, 3liss Cameron, 3liss Brier, Miss Harty, Misa Palairet and 3liss 3lason, convener.
