YACHTING.
REGATTA PRIZE NIGHT. NORTHCOTE AND BIRKENHEAD. The prizes won at the Northcote f.nd Birkenhead annual regatta were distributed at a social gathering in the Palais Theatre, Northcote, last evening. The Mayor <f Northcote, Mr, A. E. Greenslade, conveyed the appreciation of the residents of the districts to the regatta committee for the excellent management and success of the regatta. He welcomed the patron. Captain H. H. Sergeant, and the representatives of kindred clubs. The secretary, Mr. Noel J. Campbell, had been ably assisted by a good team of workers.
Mr. A. Y. Tyer, chairman of the committee, conveyed thanks for the generous financial support again accorded at Birkenhead and Northcote. He said the record number of 317 boats competed The prizes were handed to the winners by Captain Sergeant, who congratulated the committee and officials on the splendid organisation of the regatta and wished -it continued success.
