Tho selection of "A. P. F. Chapman as captain of tho Marylebono team to play against tho Australian cricketers on May 17, 19, and 20 does not find unanimous approval umong tho critics, who foresee therein his selection as test match captain.
Lord Harris was asked whether in tho event of an amateur being unfitted for iho captaincy of England by virtue of his playing form ho would counsel tho selection ot a professional. He replied that in such an inconceivable contingency of course a professional would bo captain.
