Battle Maid, following on her e:ood form at Riverton. is suro to bo well fancied. Banner Boy is a recent winner nnd cannot bo discarded. Remindful ran a very solid seven furlongs at Riverton to win on the last day and her prospects are highly regarded. Of the remainder flip Miss Redowa Attractive Lady bracket makes most appeal. Battle Maid. Remindful and tho bracket are pure to bo sought after. NEW RIVER TROT, Of £195; 2 miles; limit 4.48. Imper. Bingen Lt. yds bhd King Mac. . . Lt. Spring Chimes . 12 Hushabye . . . Jit.. Bitractor was second in a similar event nt Riverton at Easter and has nmnj friends. Nitrb-t Lark is from tho samo stable as Wincette. and provided the track remains in its present stalo would be preferred, Tea Urn. from J. Roes' Oamaru stable, ran creditably at Riverton, and with a strong horseman up would ba fancied. Night Parade galloped four furlongs in very smart time yesterday morning in company with Zealanian. Probably tho public will declare for Night Lark. Night Parade and Bitractor. FLYING HANDICAP. Of £225; G fur. st. lb. flt. lb. Meadow Lark . 10 4 Apache . . . . 7 G Black Duke ..92 Red Boa ... 7.5 Caterpillar . . 8 11 Battle Flag ..72 Bin Tin Tin , 8 8 Full Fling ..72 Lucky Light . 8 0 Coomassie ..70 Nedda .... 80 Jack a Dandy 7 0 Meadow Lark lias a heavy burden, but ho is used to carrying big weights, nnd can be expected to run well. Caterpillar docs not carry weight. too well. Bin Tin Tin gets out very smartly and has many supporters. Lucky Light, if she comes hprno straight, must take a power of beating. Red Boa will have tho services of L. J. Ellis. Full Fling's 'track work has boon most impressive and popular fancies are Full Fling, Lucky Light and Rin Tin Tin. SOUTHLAND CUP, Of £330; 11 miles. st. lb. «t. lb. Black Duke ..89 Camisader ..76 Red Sea ... 8 8 Evening .... 7 0 Circulation . . 7 13 Red Racer . 7 0 Wingatui ... 7 I.'! Black Duke has yet to run a solid milo and a-quarter and is not fancied. Red Sea's recent performances have been most impressive, but she is now climbing up in the weights. Still, with 8.8, and with L. J. Ellis up, this rnaro is suro to be favourite. Circulation, with 7.13. makes a strong appeal. Camisader should provo the best of the light-weights. Red Sea. Circulation and Camisader have many supporters. SOUTHLAND STEEPLECHASE, Of £215; nbout 3 miles. st. lb. et. lb. Overhaul ... 10 10 Taramoa ... 9 0 Snowfall ... 912 Balvasco ... 9 0 Dunedin visitors will not hear of Overhaul's defeat. However, tho fences on this course are fairly formidable, and ho will not need to make any mistakes. Snowfall has won over the course previously, and a3 he waa going particularly well when ho tipped out at, Riverton ho may take somo beating. Taramoa is troubled in the respiratory organs, and Balvasco has yet to prove himself. Snowfall and Overhaul will dispute favouritism. STEWART ISLAND HANDICAP. Of £130; 1 mile. st. lb. st. lb. Fair Exchange 9 0 Sentinel Lad . 7 7 Night Maid .86 Battle Screen 7 4 Aboevillo ..83 Craigmore ..74 Vinegrove . . 7 12 Lucy Maid ..72 Barn Door . . 7 10 Top Speed ..72 Night Rose ..78 Fair Exchange will probably bo a good favourite. Night Maid'a efforts at Riverton were distinctly encouraging and ns she has gono on the right way since she is euro to be prominent. Night Rose was running on strongly at seven furlongs in her recent outings, and sho looks as if she will seo tho journey out. Sentinel Lad won well at Riverton and with 7.7 may show a bold front. Lucky Maid's track efforts of late have been impressive, and under her light impost she is sure to bo fancied. Night Maid. Lucky Maid and Sentinel Lad will probably bo best supported.

Tit A DESM AN'S H ANDICAP, Of £160: 1 mile, st. lb. st. lb. Nodda .... 713 Battle Flog ..78 Qlenrowan . . 7 13 Cupid s Dart . 7 S Hod Racer . . 7 11 Paris ..... 7 8 Sparkling Eyes 7 !) Mount Boa ..77

Glenroivan is sure to be favourite. Red Rarier is very consistent and recent running points to him as being very well. Sparkling Eyes has a light weight and may be found running well. Cupid's Dart, now trained at Riverton, races well on top of the ground. Paris is very well just at present. The order of favouritism is likely to bo Glonrowan. Paris and Cupid's Dart.
