Black Duke has yet to run a solid milo and a-quarter and is not fancied. Red Sea's recent performances have been most impressive, but she is now climbing up in the weights. Still, with 8.8, and with L. J. Ellis up, this rnaro is suro to be favourite. Circulation, with 7.13. makes a strong appeal. Camisader should provo the best of the light-weights. Red Sea. However, tho fences on this course are fairly formidable, and ho will not need to make any mistakes. Snowfall has won over the course previously, and a3 he waa going particularly well when ho tipped out at, Riverton ho may take somo beating. Taramoa is troubled in the respiratory organs, and Balvasco has yet to prove himself. Snowfall and Overhaul will dispute favouritism. STEWART ISLAND HANDICAP. Of £130; 1 mile. st. lb. st. lb. Night Maid'a efforts at Riverton were distinctly encouraging and ns she has gono on the right way since she is euro to be prominent. Night Rose was running on strongly at seven furlongs in her recent outings, and sho looks as if she will seo tho journey out. Sentinel Lad won well at Riverton and with 7.7 may show a bold front. Lucky Maid's track efforts of late have been impressive, and under her light impost she is sure to bo fancied. Night Maid. Lucky Maid and Sentinel Lad will probably bo best supported.

Glenroivan is sure to be favourite. Red Rarier is very consistent and recent running points to him as being very well. Sparkling Eyes has a light weight and may be found running well. Cupid's Dart, now trained at Riverton, races well on top of the ground. Paris is very well just at present. The order of favouritism is likely to bo Glonrowan. Paris and Cupid's Dart.

YEARLING PURCHASED

H. B. Lorigan, the Trentham trainer, has purchased a yearling colt by Acre—Gladiole from Messrs. O'Neill brothers, of Kakatahi. The youngster is a good-looking sort. Among winners thrown by Gladiole are Orchid and Marica. Lorignn used to train Orchid and subsequently purchased him, winning a number of races with him.
