MOUNT ROSKILL ROADS.
DECISIONS OF THE BOARD.
Tho Mount Bosk ill Road Board mot last evening, Mr. 3'!. F. .Tones presiding. Tho board accepted tho recommendation of tho Finance Committee to remove tlio wooden bridge ovqr the creek in White Swan Road and replace it with a lino of 48in. concreto pipes at an estimated cost of £BS. The timber from the bridge is to bo used to form a bridge in Waikowhai Park to give access to tlio beach. A committee was appointed to act with the engineer at a, conference with tho Auckland Transport Board to assess tlio damage done to footpaths in Dominion Road during the extension of tho tramways to Mount Albert Road. Tho Public Works Department acknowledged tlio receipt of :specifications and estimates for. tar-sealing Mount Albert Road. The board was informed that the Main Highways Board was prepared to consider favourably the payment of a subsidy of £2 for £1 to tho road board. However, as this is a scoria road tho Main Highways Hoard is of tho opinion that it is questionable whether tar sealing would be satisfactory and would stand up to tlio traffic. The hospital levy to bo paid by the board this year is £2929 17s 4d, an increase of £269 above last year's levy.
