DEATH AT POLICE STATION.
MARRIED WOMAN'S FATE.

'A visitor to Hastings, Mrs. S. Kennedy, ageid 33, was found lying on tho footpath in Queen Street last evening. She was taken to the police station, whero she died.
It appears that Mrs. Kennedy arrived hero from Wellington on Saturday and took a room at a boarding house. About 6.30 p.m., accompanied by companions, she went for a motor drive, returning at 11 o'clock. She complained on the way back of not feeling well, and some difficulty was experienced in gotting her out of the car on their arrival at the boarding houso.
When another woman of the party attempted to take Mrs. Kennedy to her room the proprietress of the boarding house, it is stated, mistaking the woman's condition, refused to allo<v her to enter. Thereupon the other woman telephoned for the police. A constable arrived and took Mts. Kennedy to the station, where she died within a brief time. A doctor stated that death was duo to natural causes, but an inquest will bo held.
