MONETARY GRANT REQUESTED
[UT TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT. ] TE AROMA, Monday.
At a meeting of the Te Aroha District High School Committee, members complained that the Education Board subsidy for the maintenance of Te Aroha's two schools was insufficient. The present subsidy was £36 per quarter, and it was stated that tho cost of cleaning tho two schools absorbed £32 of that amount. It was decided to a_pply for a monetary grant. The headmaster, Mr. W. Renton, reported a roll of 350 with an average attendance of 324. The High School roll was 80, with an average attendance of 75. The dental clinic committee reported that an application for an assistant dental nurse had been declined.
