ATTEMPTED ROBBERY.
FOUR YEARS IN PRISON.
ASSAULT BY TWO MEN. [BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLING TON, Monday. Among the prisoners sentenced by Mr. Justice Blair to-day were' Waller Frascr and Sherriffs Hhrnoiss, alias William Fraser and James Burman. They were found guilty last week of assault, villi intent to rob. Each was sentenced lo four years' imprisonment.
Counsel for the defence said that in view of their records - lie found it hard to say anything to influence the Court in their favour.
Mr. Justice Blair said there was a time when robbery with violence was always punished with hanging. The accused had got hold of a half drunken man and throttled him and attempted to rob him. Harneiss had been sentenced to 18 months' imprisonment for a similar offence m Christchureh in 1923.
