, " Anxious." —A delicfooi conserve, may he made by preserving fi'c3 with letnoniflice and ginger, pickled ami spiced. To iiiake a dry preserve, first cut the fruit in halves and then boil till cooked in an ordinary syruji. to which a few roots of ginger have been added. Drain thoroughly, spread tho" pieces on trays or in shallow dishes, and dry thoroughly in a slow, oven or before the fire, turning >fhe fruit, over and stirring occasionally. .Finally roll in granulated pugar and leavo exposed to air or sun on dishes or sheets of paper until dry enough to stole in jars or boxes.
