CROQUET.

MOUNT HOBSON CLUB. The annual meeting of the Mount Hobson Croquet Club was held in the club's pavilion The president. Mrs. J. C. Badeley. presided over a large attendance. The "report and balance-sheet showed a most satisfactory position, the season having closed with a credit balance. Tho club's AA team, playing for tho first time on full lawns, von the Auckland Croquet Association's Shield for the season. Numerous functions were held on the club's lawns during the season, which were also used in the Auckland Association's tournament: The club had a visit from a leading Melbourne croquet player, who congratulated it on the excellent playing conditions of the lawns, which compared favourably with the best in Mel- ' bourne Following are the winners of club com 1 petitions:—A champion singles Mrs M Guthrie: runner-up. Mrs S. ,J. Harbutt; B champion singles. Mrs. McDonald; runner up Mrs G Taylor: club doubles, Mesdames Harbutt and Wann: handicap doubles. Mesdames W E Arey and Donaldson- progressive cronuet .prize for season. A grade, Mrs. Harvey: B grade, Mrs Palmer. In tho Cambridge open tournament Mrs. J. C. Badeley was runner-up for tho open championship singles. The prizes won during the season were presented bv the president, and special gifts were presented to Mrs W. E. Arey, secretary, and Mrs F Wortbington for their arduous attention to the duties of Ihfii" offices The following officers were elected : President Mrs. J C Badeley: vice-prosi dents.
