DEATH OF YOUTH.
FALL DOWN LIFT WELL. ACCIDENT AT NEWMARKET. An inquest was opened yesterday by (he coroner, Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., into tfie death of Lewis Bernard Tester, aged 18, who died five days after he fell 10ft. down a lift well at a factory at Newmarket. He continued going to his employment until last Friday, when be complained of pains in the head. After remaining in bed until Sunday morning, bo died at his homo at 54, Currati Street, Heme Bay. Deceased's mother, Mrs. Harriot Beatrice Tester, stated that when her son came homo from work last Tuesday ho said he had had a slight accident, having fallen 101't. down a Jift well at the pickle factory of Koefoeds, Limited, Newmarket, where be was employed. Ho went to work as usual, but on returning from work on Friday afternoon said lie had severe headache. On Saturday, morning, at one o'clock, he said that-, his bead was slill aching, and at ] p.m. Hie same, day witness called Dr. Pettit. Deceased remained in bed all Saturday. In addition to (he headache deceased bad complained of his back since the accident, lie died at 7.45 on Sunday morning. The inquest was then adjourned sino die.
