TRANSFER OF OFFICIAL. Captain L. M. Hatfield, who has been marine superintendent in Australia for Canadian National Steamships during the past 6A- years/ has been transferred to a similar position at Halifax. Nova Scotia. He is a through passenger by tho Aorangi from Sydney. Born in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, Captain Hatfield spent 20 years at sea, during .10 of which he was master of steamers traversing tho world's chief trade ioutes. Ho wa? for several years iri command of steamers of the Royal Jlail Steam Packet Line, trading between London and South American ports. Ten years ago he joined Canadian National Steamships at? marine superintendent and was stationed at various times at Montreal, Iluli- , fas and latterly at Sydney.
