CHIEF OF GENERAL STAFF. MAJOR-GENERAL COXEN. (Received May '<!• 12.15 a.m.) MELBOURNE, May 2. Major-General W. A. Coxeir has been appointed Chief of the General Staff of tho Australian Army. lie is regarded as being the finest quartermaster-general the Army has ever had. General Coxen raised and took from Australia to the Great War the Royal Australian Siege Brigade, and during 1918 on the Western Front commanded a great number of artillery officers.
