WELLINGTON, Thursday
Yesterday afternoon Roar-Adnrir.il Hyrd paid a visit to tSir Maui Pomavc at Lower Hull, and in tlie evening ho was Iho guest of the Chief Justice, Sir Michael Myers, and Lady Myers. This evening ho is being enteVtained at dinner on board 11.M.5. Veronica by Commodore Blake and the other naval officers. To-morrow evening ho will leave with the members of his party for Rotorua, where he is to be the guest of the Government, 110 will return to Wellington on Wednesday, and that night at the Town Hall he is to be tendered.a combined reception. Wireless reports indicate that the expedition ships are now making good progress on their way to Tahiti after the recent heavy storms in the Pacific." At noon on Tuesday the Eleanor Boiling was 1145 miles from Taiaroa Head, Otago. The previous day the City of New York reported that the weather was then lino and all on board were well.
