Complications are expected to result from (he decision of (ho Irish Free State lo seek a non-permanent seat on the Council of tho League of Nations independent of the British Empire, which now is represented by Canada. It. is expected tha|, South Africa will succeed to the Empire's seat, as Australia and New Zealand are not aspirants.
The claim of the Irish free Slate is regarded as a gesture lo demonstrate licr virlual independence, but it is not likely lo succeed.
