MONTHLY MEETING.

'(Tin Council of the Auckland Hospital Auxiliary held its monthly meeting in the Hospital Board room this week. Mrs. Alfred Kidd was in the chair.

Mrs. Ncill, president of the Onehunga branch, reported that visiting, motor drives, concerts and sewing for the in- , tirmary had been carried on as usual. ! Performers for the concerts had offered very freely, and it was hoped to give two concerts each month for a time. Owing to alterations and additions, it had been found 'necessary to rewire the shelters at the infirmary for the wireless. The Mount Eden branch, with Mrs. Potter as president, had contributed 86 garments to the depot during March, and members had visited the hospital with fruit and cigarettes. Needy folks were also visited in their homes and given food and clothing. Mrs. Mailer's committeo took 17 patients home from the hospital during the month, and Mrs. Marler also had arranged transport in wet weather for a sick child attending hospital daily. Mrs. Tiarks reported that two cars had been sent to the hospital each Monday to tako patients for drives, and when the Niagara was in port several of the patients wei'o taken on board and .shown over it. j Mrs. Wettenhall, convener of the ways and means committee, reported that a bridge parly had been held dur- j ing the. mouth in aid of the luiids. Iho visiting committee, with Mrs. I'ankliurst as convener, had visited the hospital each mouth giving help to needy patients and distributing jam and books. The city sewing circle, under the leadership of Mrs. Can- Smith, was responsible for 133 garments for the depot, for March, and had also sent a large parcel of clothing to St. Helens Hospital. The junior branch of the auxiliary, with Miss Calder in charge, j had also started their work for St. ITelens Hospital. Outside workers had made up 58 garments from wool and material supplied from the depot. Mrs. Drysdale and Mrs. Hugh Maguiro collected and delivered parcels when necessary. _ During March 54 families were helped with clothing to the number of 378 garments, and food orders were given to 33 families. Donations of 226 garments were received apart from those supplied by the auxiliary workers.
