MOTOR-CYCLE RACING.

WESTERN SPRINGS EVENTS.

Particular interest attaches to the cmder track lace meeting to be held at the Western Springs Speedway to-morrow evening, when some novel events will bo held. The Xew Zealand champion broadsider, A. Matron, will be matched in a special event against P. Senbrook, who will drive his super-charged Baby Austin, winner of the New Zealand light car championship. Mnttson will ride the Norton motor-cycle which he has used throughout, the season, and the event, should provide many thrills, as the littla racing car is very fast and should be capable of lapping the. course in good timo. Matt-son will also be matched against R. Blake, an Australian champion, whom he has defeated twice out of three races. Blake struck Ihe fence, at the last meeting and received* slight concussion, but ho has completely recovered and should be in good form for to-morrow evenincr. B. Bray and M. Graham, another Wentworfh man, who provided one of the best match races last week, will again appear in a special four-lap race. Graham won by a narrow margin last week, after the two riders had raced practically together from the start, and the match to-morrow evening will probably be completed in fast time.

The final of the Norton Cup competition will be held to-morrow evening. T. Butler, a B grade, man. is leading by a largo margin fr?m A. Mattson, but although Butler lias won the first two rounds, he is not necessarily assured of winning the final, and will compete against the hesi; local men for the cup. The second round of tho Hudson-Essex Cup competition for B grade riders, in which Butler is also leading; will be held, and W. Coyle. who has obtained a new machine, should prove a strong challenger to the leader. The twelve best Western Springs riders will also appear in a championship event of four limits, each from a rolling istart.
