Vincent, last evening:—The conditions on tho eastern 'Jusman Sea ■;ire still most disturbed and unsettled, an extensive westerly depression occupying most of that area, and extend' ing to New Zealand. Present indications favour unsettled weather ruling generally, with rain in most districts, and heavy in western and southern areas. North-westerly winds, moderate to strong, freshening, and backing to south-west. Rough seas on tho west coast of the North Island; mainly smooth to moderate elsewhere. Local outlook:. Cloudy and unsettled, with intermittent rain, but fair periods intervening. Cooler temperaI. ures.

GOVERNMENT REPORT. The Government meteorologist reported last evening as follows: —Yesterdays cyclone has passed to the eastward, but another depression is advancing front tho southern Tasinan Sea and is likely to cross the South Island to-night, Indications are for moderate strong westerly I u south-westerly winds, but south-westerlies becouiiug general during to-morrow. Seas rough on the west coast and south of Castlepoint. Moderate north of Castlepoint. Strong westerly, backing to southerly, winds in the eastern Tasntan Sea, with rough seas. Weather cool and changeable, with showers in most districts. Heavy at, places on tho west coast.
