SENSATIONAL MURDER.
RICH GERMAN POLITICIAN.
SHOT IN OWN GARDEN,
ESCAPE OF ASSASSIN.
PRIOR ATTEMPT RECALLED
By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received February 2t. 7.15 p.m.) BERLIN. Feb. 20. A sensation has been caused throughout. Germany by the assassination of Dr. Kramer, a millionaire mineowner, in the garden of his own house. The outrage resembles a similar attempt more than years ago, and, as before, the assassin escaped under cover of darkness. Even bloodhounds, ■which were immediately in action, were unable to pick up the scent. Dr. Kramer was walking in his garden, awaiting some dinner guests. He was seeking a parking place for the car of one of his friends, when the headlights allowed him to be silhouetted. Immediately a shot from behind a hedge rang out. Dr. Kramer collapsed, and was just able to whisper a. message to his wife when he died.
The police have still not determined whether the assassin was a dismissed employee, or a political antagonist, as Dr. Kramer was an eminent member of the German People's Tarty. But tho previous attempt, suggests that a sensational society drama may be revealed.
