TE PUKE WATER SUPPLY.
MEETING PRESENT DEMANDS.
[BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] TE PUKE, Friday.
Tho new Kirikiri dam to supplement (ho To Puko water supply was officially opened yesterday by Mr. H. 0. Cooney. In the past tho water supply had proved inadequate throughout dry spells, more particularly in the case of fire, and the scheme for conservation of additional water has been imperative. At, tho ceremony yesterday Mrs. Bostock unfastened the sluice gates.
Tlio scheme lias cost £640. It is estimated that when full the dam will impound 60,000 gallons of water.
