The first conference of New, Zealand aero clubs was held to-night and was attended by .30 delegates, representing tho Auckland, Canterbury, v Marlbord>ugh, Hawke's Bay, Haw-era, New Plymouth, Wellington, Otago, Southland, and Wairarapa Clubs. Tho Director of Air Services, Wing-Com-mander Grant Dalian, attended in an advisory capacity, and Mr. If. R. l)ix, of tho Marlborough Club, presided. It was decided to appoint a committee to draw- up a constitution for a body to be known as the New Zealand Aero Club, all approved clubs to be members, and tho parent body to control air pageants, claims to records and generally to promote tho interests of aviation.

A further committee was appointed to approach the Government in regard t© subsidies for A class pilots, general conditions for aero clubs, insurance and co-op-cration with tho Meteorological Department in drawing up visibility scales for A r ew Zealand. It was decided also to ask tho Government to givo aviation telegrams priority of transit and to provide special rates for telephono communications. In this connection a resolution was passed expressing tho opinion that the landing and other fees at Wellington were excessive, and that no fees should bo charged for club machines landing at Wellington. Tho meeting unanimously approved a remit from Auckland recommending that a system be instituted whereby club pilots may becoino units in territorial flights and squadrons in tho various ceutres, a. flight to bo formed from each club, and regular- instruction given by -Air Force officers, and that annual camps bo held and tho suggested training bo accepted in lieu of compulsory military training.
