DEFEAT OF HAMILTON CREW.

[BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] ; PICTON, Sunday. Rain continued throughout the New Zealand rowing championship regatta at Picton, yesterday. Tho champion fours and champion pairs were rowed in an unpleasant head wind but the water was not unduly rough, and for the remainder of the races the going was vory smooth. Union, Wanganui, retained the double's title, and Turner, of Tauranga, ■ repeated his victory of last year against Jackson, of Wanganui, in the single sculls; The Hamilton ex-cham-pions, Sanclos and Bayly, wrested the pairs, title from the Star pair, last year's winners, after a stirring race which was only won on the last stroke.
