DAMAGE BY FIRE.
HOUSE AT ONE HUNG A. ; i
UNOCCUPIED FOR TWO YEARS-
An unoccupied four-roomed house in Symonds Street, Onehunga, was extensively damaged by fire about eight o'clock last evening. Although the flames had a strong hold before-the alarm was given, the Onehunga Fire Brigade brought the fire under control within a few minutes.
The front portion of the building was used 60, years ago as a school, but additions were made, and it was afterwards converted into a house. -It was part of the estate of the late Mr. Thomas O'Keefe, and it had been unoccupied since his death about two years ago. It is believed to have changed ownership last month.
HOUSE BURNED TO GROUND. NOTHING SAVED FROM FLAMES. [by Tf-TEGBAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] NEW Wednesday. A five-roomed house on the Olmra Road, Kohuratahi, was destroyed by fire last night. The house was owned and occupied by Mr. E. Nickel, and the occupants had to- leave . hurriedly in their night attire Nothing was saved. The building was insured for £SOO and the furniture for £2OO in the New Zealand Office. :
