YESTERDAY'S WEATHER.
CONDITIONS IN SOUTH. , Auckland.—The weathei in Auckland yesterday was fine, but the dull, cloudy sky threatened rain. The wind was light from the . south and last evening the , barometer, after rising all day, was.nearly normal.
Wellington.—Heavy rain early yesterday morning gave way to blue skies and a southerly breeze? throughout the day. The night was fine and clear. Christchurch. —The weather was dull and overcast and much cooler yesterday, with a light south-west breeze in the forenoon, changing to a light cast wind in the afternoon. The day was much warmer and clearer toward evening, with bright sunshine.
Dunedin.—The weather yesterday. was fine but overcast, with some sunshine and a very light north-east breeze. The barometer, which fell very rapidly on Monday, soared nearly 30 points in 36 hours. Indications were for a further spell of lato summer weather. There was a smooth sea in the harbour and a slight easterly swell ou the coast.
