STRENGTH OF THE NAVY.
AUCKLAND LEAGUE'S VIEW.
A mooting of tho executive council of tho Auckland branch of tho Navy League was held 011 Monday evening, Mr. W, J. Connors presiding.
Rofcrcnce was made to two members of the council who had died sinco tho last mooting, Canon C. L. Tuke and Mrs. R. L. Clcland, the president of -tho Do. von port sub-branch. Sympathy with the relatives of both members was expressed. Tho following motion, moved by tho president, Mr. C. 11. T. Palmer, was carried: "Tho Auckland Navy Leaguo views with gravo concern tho continued alarming weakening of tho Royal Navy, and it is our considered opinion that tho security of British subjects, particularly in the outlying Dominions, is being seriously imperilled by this action, which also endangers tho peace of tho world."
