The auctionaers teport on the Frank-lon stock tale to-day as follows: Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Limited.—An average yarding of beef and a heavy yarding of store sheep. Values for good quality bieef and mutton were on a par with late rates. Store lambs met with keen competition, and were, if anything, n shade firmer. A line of Gisborne ewes, sold in conjunction with Dalgety and Company, met with keen competition. All classes of breeding ewes sold at increased prices. A heavy yarding of all classes of pigs, coinpetition being again keen. The whole yarding of 300 head was quitted under tLe hammer. Baconers averaged 7d to 7Jd per lb. and porkers 7Jd to Sid per lb. Bidding at the stock sale at Taumarunui to-day was not very brisk, but most of the sheep yarded were sold under, the hammer. About 200 sheep came forward and over 100 head of cattle. Two lots of fat wethers made 255, and two and four-tooth wethers made 21s Id and 21s sd. All the lambs yarded were disposed of, but there was a decline of about Gs on last year's prices. Cattle were not in demand, and a number of pens were passed in. Prices were as follows:—Pigs: Small weaners, 8s; porkers, 31s. Sheep: Fat wethers, 24s to 255; fourtooth wethers, 21s sd; two-tooth wethers, 18s to 21s Id; ewe lambs, woolly, 12s 4d to 13s; wether lambs, woolly, -10s Gd to lis sd; good wether lambs, shorn. 13s; M.S. lambs, 8s Id to 10s Gd; cull lambs. Dalgety and Company, Limited, he'd their annual sheep sale liere to-day, when 2100 head were yarded and practically all were sold. Prices were well maintained. Quotations are:—Woolly wether lambs, 14s 3d to IGs 9d: shorn, 14s .Gd to IGs 3d: smaller, 10s lid to 13s Gd; shorn mixed-ess lambs, 12s 5d to 13s Gd: light, 8s lid to ]os 2d; woolly lambs, mixed sexes, lis Id to 15s Gd; ewe lambs. Since last Thursday about 13,000 sheep have been sold under the hammer in the Coromandel County. A public sheep fair was held yesterday in temporary yards at Mr. W. C. Denize's Waiknwau Homestead, about six miles north of Colviiie. It was conducted by Dalgety and Company, Limited, and there was a yarding of 2250. Only 250 sheep were passed in. The auctioneer commented on. the excellent condition and Quality of Iho sheep offering. There was a very fair attendance of outside buyers. As a result of this venture and improved road comnniniealion yards will probably be erected iit Colville and sales held there.
