NUISANCE FROM SEWAGE.
HEALTH OFFICER'S COMPLAINT,
Complaint of a nuisance caused on tho Hobson Bay foreshoro owing to an overflow of sewage from the Newmarket sewer running down a creek and getting among the mangroves, was made to tho Auckland Harbour Board yesterday by tho medical officer of' health, Auckland, who asked that tho mangroves should bo cut as low aB possible. The engineer reported that, lie had arranged with the city engineer to carry out repair work which would render (lie cutting-down of tho mangroves unnecos. fsary, and that, in his opinion, tho cut-ting-down should ho dono by the.City Council if it was still thought that tho work should Im undertaken. The chairman, Mr, AT, JI, Wytlyard, titiiled tluil, both the eii.y engineer and the Niuviiiut'ltel/ lloroiigli Council engineer wore investigating Ihe uialter, ft was decided to reply in terms of the engineer's report.
