GERMAN PUTS IN CLAIM. GOLD COINS IN A BOTTLE. (Receired February. 3, 5.5 p.m.) SYDNEY, Feb. 3. Mr. Herman Thiel, who has just returned to Sydney from Germany, claims a sum of £213 which was found by & Boy Scout. Tho amount was made up of sovereigns and half-sovereigns. They were in a bottle, which was buried on the shore at Sirius Cove, Mosman, and found in October, 1929. The money was handed to the police. Mr. Thiel says he withdrew it from a bank in 1915 and buried it for safety, as he did not trust banks. Last year he tried to find tho spot again, but sewerage works had disturbed the landmarks. He dug around for weeks fruitlessly and then sailed for Germany. Three weeks later tho Boy Scout unearthed the hoard.
