RIBBONS ILLEGALLY WORN.
FINE IMPOSED BY COURT.
/ LONDON, Dec. 23. The Rev. Samuel Lynn Thomas, curate ©f St. Mary's, Balham, was fined £lO, >vith five guineas costs, for unlawfully wearing tho ribbons of the 1915 Star and an Italian decoration.
The prosecution said Thomas habitually ■wore the ribbons during his duties at the church, to support his story that he served in France, where he was badly wounded, and also with the general staff in Italy, whereas his war service was singularly peaceful. He was called up to join a transport division in 1917. He yras commissioned in the Labour Corps, r.nd became an education officer at Salonika. * ' There is rao record that he ever saw A shot fired. The only excitement he experienced was; when he was courtmartialled a:ad reprimanded for drunkenness.
