TRAGEDY AT PAISLEY.
RECENT CINEMA PANIC.
ARREST OF THE MANAGER.
SAD SCENES IN THE MORTUARY
WEEPING CROWDS IN STREETS
By Telegraph—Pres3 Association—Copyright. LONDON, Jan. i. Charles Dorwarc'l, manager of the Glen Cinema at Paisley, where the recent disaster occurred, has been arrested and charged with culpable homicide.
The members of the Paisley Town Council to-day visited the homes of the bereaved parents to inquire if a mass public funeral was desired. It was decided that it would he better for the parents to carry out their own arrangements. The council will merely provide the needy with burial sites.
There were pathetic scenes in the mortuary to-day. Many of the volunteers who were engaged in preparing for burial bodies of the little victims broke down under the ordeal and had to be replaced by others.
The hearses in which the bodies were conveyed to their homes passed between long lines of weeping men and women. All the injured children are making progress toward recovery except one, who is suffering from a fractured skull and is in a critical condition. The relief fund has reached a total of £3OOO, including a gift of £IOOO from a Paisley draper.
Five families lost two or more of their children.
