ENGAGEMENT ANNOUNCED.
THIRD WIFE TO BE TAKEN
(Received January 3. 8.35 p.m.) LONDON, Jan. 3. The engagement is announced of Sir Frederick Ponsonby's daughter, Loelia Mary to the 2nd Duke of. Westminster. The duke and his fiancee at present arc yachting in tho Mediterranean. The Duke owns great estates, including 600 acres in London. Ho is a renowned big-game hunter, yachtsman and turfite. Miss Ponsonby is tall, dark and a witty conversationalist.
The 2nd Duke of Westminster was married first in 1901 to the youngest daughter of the late Mr. W. C. CornwalhsWest. She divorced him in 1919. The duke married again in 1920, his second wife being Violet, daughter of Sir William Nelson. She divorced him in 1926. The duke owns about 30.000 acres of land in Cheshire and Flintshire, an estate in Scotland and 600 acres in London. Sir Frederick Ponsonby, whose daughter is now engaged to the duke, has been Deputy-Constable and Lieutenant-Gov-ernor of Windsor Castle since 1928, Ireasurer to the King since 1920 and Keeper of the Privy Purse since 1914.
