THE AGAPANTHUS.
MANY USEFUL VARIETIES.
Agapanthus umbellalus (umbelled), the bright blue and umbellalus albidus (the pure white) are at present in full flower. They aro extremely hardy herbaceous plants from the Cape of Good Hope, and commonly called African Tjily, tho order to which they belong. The flowers are produced in many flowered umbels on long stiff stems, and aro useful for cutting. They will succeed almost anywhere and when once planted soon becomo established and gradually grow into large-sized clumps. Thero aro several varieties, including one with variegated leaves. However, the above named are the two most generally grown. Planted on tho sides of banks they have an excellent appearance, especially at this season when tho clumps aro in full flower.
