AUCKLAND CUP.

CANDIDATES' RECORDS.

A very satisfactory entry of 19 has been received for the Auckland Trotting Cup, to be decided at Alexander Park on December 27, and a field -worthy of the rich stake and gold cup with which it is endowed seeniß assured. At present discussion cn thfe race is quiet and there ifl unlikely to bo any quickening of interest until tho handicaps are declared by Mr. G. Paul on Tuesday next. Ono of the early selections is Dilworlh, who brilliantly won the Courlenay Handicap at Addington recently in the good lime of 4m 2Gs after standing on the mark and losing considerable ground before settling down. It is computed that Dilworth went the two miles from post to post in robnd about 4m 20s in this race, and it was only necessary to witness tho performance to realise that .she is a pacer of real class. Under the new system of handicapping Dilworth cannot be handicapped on a tighter mark than 4m 28s at present, and therefore she will cotno in on the limit, so that she certainly appeals as a good proposition. ■ However, there are* some brilliant performers among the others engaged, and the pnyiencc of Dilworth is not likely to dampen the hopes of owners of other candidates, who are sure to bo attracted by the valuable stake. The following is the list of horses engaged and thoir best performances over two miles.—
