SALES OF TREASURES.
ART-LOVERS' DISTRESS
Several secret sales of historical treasures to buyers in America, which were disclosed recently, caused considerable alarm among art lovers. An old mansion in Kent has been stripped of its rave panelling and ceiling. The material has been exported to the United Stales without the townspeople being aware of their loss. The removal was carried out at night by workmen "from outside the town.
