CHILDREN'S PARTY.
A children's plain and fancy dress party was given by the ladies of the Takapuna Boating Club at the clubhouse at Bavswater last qvening. A large number of children attended and great was. their delight at the appearance of Santa Glaus with his sack of toys, which wore distributed later. A glistening silver Christmas tree laden with balloons and all kinds of mysterious packages had been placed in the middle of tho hall, and from it each of the children received a present. A treasure hunt and various games provided the remainder of the evening's entertainment, Mrs"; Wyatt and her Wonderland children also giving several items. In the ballet tho parts were taken by Betty Middleton. Agnes Follett, B. Wildou,'P. Bcstic, R. McFadgen, D. Schulz, E. Agate. Ina. Smith and F. McFadgen. Supper was served by the following ladies:—Mrs. Lidgard, Mrs. Cook, Mrs. Deacon, Mrs. Smith, Mrs. Inkster, Mrs. J. 11. Williamson. Mrs. Edwards, Mrs. Peters and Mrs. Gvde. Among the children present were: Ailsa Mackay. Mann Burton, Clif JHoverd. J. Lidgard, Jack Burton. Kathleen Hoverd. Tom Humphries, Jack Polkinghorne, S. Kissen, Fay Humphries,' Shirley Coglar, B. Coglan, Betty Preston-Thomas, Lois Robinson, Doreen Prestbn-Thomas, Susan Preston Thomas. Jean Hooker, Joan Thomas, Elma Hall, Joyce Bourdot.
