ATTEMPTED SUICIDE.
SEAMAN'S DRINKING BOUT.
A charge of attempting to commit suicido was admitted by a seaman, Neil Robertson, before Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., in the Police Court- yesterday. Sub-Inspector McCarthy said accused had been on a drinking bout when his steamer was down the coast, and he was suffering from the effects of alcohol when ho arrived in Auckland., While boarding in town ho attempted to take his life by cutting his throat. It seemed he was hardly aware of what he was doing. Ho had been in hospital for some time.
Accused was convicted and ordered to pay" expenses totalling £4 16s. -Ho-agroed to take out a. prohibition order.
