RACES LESS POPULAR.
NEW SOUTH WALES RETURNS. DECLINE IN STATE REVENUE. (Received November 28, 9.45 p.m.) SYDNEY,- Nov. 28. That racing in New South Wales is declining in popularity is evident from the taxation returns of the racing clubs, and also from the totalisator receipts. The decline in totalisator receipts this year is £74,000. The New South Wales Treasurer, Mr. B. S. Stevens, says the Government revenue from both sources has been diminishing appreciably for the past three years.
