CARNIVAL ARRANGED.

The plans of a gala day committee, comprisiilg representatives of the Papatoetoe town band and all local bodies and ' organisations, indicate an enjoyable day . for the children of Papatoetoe on Decern- . ber 14, when the Kolmar P3rk reserve and band rotunda will be formally opened. The plans were finalised at a m'eeting on Wednesday, Sir. William Brown presiding. It was decided to muster the school children at Shirley Eoad reserve. Prizes for fancy dresses are to be awarded and the children will march- in procession, headed by the town band and pipers, to fhe .hew. reserve in Wallace Eoad, which has an area of about five acres.

The band rotunda, which is being built ' under the supervision of Sir. E. S. Sorensen, a member of the town board, is of the latest design, and it will be formally declared open by Mr. A- W. Hall, M. P. A ladies' committee, under Mrs. T. R. Smvthemah is. organising a baby show, while adults are being catered for \vnth shooting galleries, coconut; shies, etc. There will bo an exhibition of Highland and classical dancing, and novelty sports . are being , organised for the school children. AH " prizes have been donated and no expense will be incurred. The pre ceeds from-the side-shows and stalls are to be utilised to purchase for the reserve' swings and other amusement devices - far tho children, >-■-■>
